-What little tidbits of advice do you wish someone would have told you?
(Ex: Just because a child sleeps through the night for a few nights does NOT mean it is a permanent thing. Teething, sickness and some small changes in routine can quickly throw a sleeping child into a non-sleeper.)
-What little tricks have you figured out that could help someone else out?
(Ex: when you are out with a newborn baby -or any baby- make sure you have at least 3-4 extra pairs of clothes. Blowouts happen quickly and often.)
-What do you wish people would have told you about motherhood?
(Ex: When you become a mom you become so much more selfless.)

ReplyDelete** ASK your husband for help when you would like some!! He can't read your mind and it doesn't always come naturally to him. I was always afraid to ask too much of him, so I tried to be supermom and then became overwhelmed before he realized that I was at that point. COMMUNICATE with him and others how they can help you before you are overwhelmed.

** If you use store bought diapers, and you accidentally tear a tab off or in someway "break" the diaper, leave it on. Put a second diaper over it that fastens. When baby is wet or dirty, just take the underneath diaper off and re-fasten! (This also works if baby outgrows a size. You can put the too small diaper under the bigger one!) AND....
**A pizza cutter works wonders for cutting up LOTS of other foods for toddlers (pancakes, eggs, cold cuts, cheese, etc.) I've been known to carry one in my purse for dining out purposes because it saves so much time!

** Recently a friend told me "The days are long, but the time is short." This is SO true. Especially with newborns!
