5 Months

Today Rigley is 5 months old.  This month Paislee made up a few more nicknames for him.  She likes to call him "Riggers" & "Rigazoni."  She thinks these names are hilarious and loves to call him these names.  When she is talking to him and he doesn't smile or laugh at her (which isn't very often) she gets disappointed.

Rigley is still a very happy boy.  You don't see him very often not smiling.  He went to the doctor on Monday for a re-check of his ears and he weighed in at 18.8 lbs.  He is still one solid little man.

This past month he had his first ear infection then had his first allergic reaction to amoxicllin.  After being on the medicine for about 8 days he woke up one morning to nurse and his face was hot.  My first thought was that was the side he was laying on.  When I investigated further his body was covered with hives.  After a 4 am call to the pharmacist and dosage of Claritin he was much better.  I stopped giving him the amoxicillin but his skin was still very sensitive until the medicine was totally out of his system.  No penicillin based drugs for this young lad.

This month Rigley decided he (kind of) likes his pacifier.  Really, though, I think he likes it more for chew toy for his teeth.  But he does take it some.  It's not a must have for him, yet.  I'm not sure if it will be or not.

He still loves bath time and loves to splash.  The exersaucer and the jumparoo are his favorite new toys.  We have to strategize of when to put him in these toys...I'll let you figure that one out;-) He has perfected the rolling from his back to his tummy and a few times has found his way back to his back.  He's not really sure how he has done it but he is starting to learn.  He does scoot alot and is trying to get his knees under him.

His hair is growing longer and longer and seems to be coming in a blondish color.  His scalp is still so dry so it gets coated in lotion which helps to style his hair:-)

This is how you will find him most of the time.  He loves chewing on everything.  Still no teeth but I don't think they are too far away from coming in.

He still is gettin up at least once through the night.  He fidgets so much with his face that he often wakes himself up.  We did try to swaddle him but then he gets mad because he can't roll over to his tummy.  It's just an endless cycle.  One day he'll get it.

My sweet boys...
