Seven months is here and will quickly be gone. This happy guy is always so quick with a smile. He loves to laugh and be tickled. This month brought some more new firsts for him (and for us). His (and our) first trip to the ER was a little more excitement then what we had planned for the weekend. Rigley was diagnosed RSV and is getting better each day. At the ER he weighed in right around 20 lbs. I'm not sure of length and head circumference, I usually let the doctor's office do all that.
This month he started getting some real (baby) food. We started with a little bit of rice and it was pretty obvious he was over that after the first bit. I really can't blame him though....I mean, if you have waited for real food the last thing you want is something bland. Next up, sweet potatoes, carrots and squash, they were all hits. The green veggies (green beans, peas) not so much. We will try those again later. He does like the oatmeal with bananas though. We have waited on the fruit because every kid loves the fruit. He has to get used to the veggies first.
He is still nursing and to be honest I couldn't really tell you how many times. Seriously, I lose count. My brain cells are not what they used to be.
He now is getting on all fours and rocking back and forth like he is getting ready to go crawling. He can move his legs but can't figure out what to do with his hands so he does a lot of face planting into the carpet. He can sit up then get down onto his belly and one time he has maneuvered himself back up, I'm sure it was done by accident.
This past weekend we welcomed his first tooth. His bottom right tooth made an appearance Saturday morning then his bottom left made an appearance Sunday morning. From the looks of the top gums I'm sure his top ones will be in soon.
This month we moved him upstairs into his own room and his baby bed. Previously, he had been in our room in the pack-n-play. It was time. He does sleep so much better up there. His sleeping is still not so great but at least he is happy about it and doesn't get grouchy. Seriously, the only time he cries (other than when his siblings rough him up...or Hank) is when his mommy makes him cry it out. I'm sooo mean! (And for those who are trying to judge me right now...don't! His crying it out is like 10-15 minutes.)
Also this month we moved him into a different carseat. Having a 20 pound child then having a 10 pound seat was not very convenient for me or my elbow/shoulder anymore. He loves his seat. He can see the rest of the family in the back and sits and giggles with them. He is growing up so fast.
Anytime his siblings are outside he wants to be out there watching and yelling at them. Over the Memorial holiday we had the pools out and he even dangled his legs in and enjoyed it. I'm sure as long as his brother/sisters are there he will love it too. He rode the carousel for the first time at the museum and loved it.
He likes to stand up now anytime that he can. He is not pulling himself up...yet, but he does enjoy it when his big sister comes and helps.
Rigley, we love you so much. Each day you bring so many smiles, laughter and joy to our family. It is so exciting to watch you interact with your brothers and sisters. We can not wait to see what the future holds for you. We love you!

Those are great pictures of Rigley! And that last one makes him look like a "big boy!" Too fast, too fast... Probably should consider having another. ;-)
ReplyDeleteSorry about Hank roughing him up the other night. Poor guy! Pretty soon he'll be giving it right back. :-)
