Finally...she likes them (I think)

What girl doesn't like shoes? Paislee doesn't. I guess I don't blame her. She was born in December and you don't need shoes then. As summer came you don't want to wear shoes outside. (Being part farm girl, I don't make her wear shoes outside.) So what is the hurry in trying to put the girl in shoes? Well.... Recently the weather has been in the teens and when you are walking everywhere, there is a need for shoes. Not at home but when we are out. Saturday morning before the Brown Thanksmas I put shoes on her and you would have thought the world was ending. She whined around and acted like she couldn't walk. Actually, it was one of the most pathetic and one of the funniest things she has done. After about an hour she realized that she could walk just fine.

My mamaw has always said that when you put a baby in shoes it helps them to walk because the shoes help them to keep their balance as they are teetering around. Being a mother of six, grandmother of 23 and great-grandmother of 14 (+2 in the next few months) she knows what she is talking about. However, I think Paislee is the one child that may have just blown a hole in her theory.

  1. Yes, I've got to disagree with grandma on that one. I think it's easier for kids (at least mine) to learn to walk without shoes. I mean, God made it that way, right? :-)
