One Year Old

Happy Birthday Paislee!

Dear Paislee Kate,
Where has the time gone? This time one year ago we were holding you starring at your scrunched face and crooked nose wandering what you would be like. What kind of personality would you have? Would your transition into our family be a big adjustment? Would your older siblings love you as much as we do? I think it's safe to say that having you apart of our family has been a seamless transition. Each day your goofy faces and crazy sound effects bring a smile to our face. You have personality oozing out of you. You love (maybe I should say adore) your older siblings. Each morning you can not wait to play with them. They do a great job of including you in on all of the fun they have.

You now have six teeth in, four on top and two on the bottom. You are eating anything you want. Since your teeth have come in you enjoy strolling around the house eating an apple or banana. You enjoy eating Cheerios and usually leave a trail around the house so we know where to find you.

You continue to be a great sleeper. You usually go to sleep around 8:30 or 9, whenever the older two go to bed. Usually, you get up around 6:30 then come down into bed with me and we hang out and usually go back to sleep until everyone else gets up. You are still taking two naps through out the day but have proved to us that if you only get one nap you are still your happy self. (Which is good to know with the holidays coming up).

You have now been walking around for about 6 weeks and have now moved on to climbing.Climbing into the toy boxes seems to be a daily event. You also like to climb on the (small) chairs and the couch (when the cushions are off). Each day you begin to understand more and more of what we say. You follow simple commands that we ask. We have now entered the "trash can" phase so we now keep the trash can up high where you can not reach. If something is missing we go straight to the trash can to see if your little hands threw it away.

Pais, Watching you over the last year grow to be a beautiful little girl has been a joy. Seeing you interact with Chaney and Tucker makes this mom pretty proud. Your tender heart is so evident that every time you get told "no" you immediately have huge crocodile tears running down your bubbly cheeks. You love to be goofy and you fit in with this goofy family just perfectly. We love you so much.
