Our original plans for today was to be with the Brown side and getting together for our annual event. However, plans changed so we decided to spend the day together and out of the house. We decided to take the kids to walk trails at the park, then play on the playground at the park, eat a picnic lunch then go to a new splash pad. Today's hot weather + good natured kids = a successful day.
This top picture makes me laugh for so many reasons...I'm not sure what the kids were doing but their faces are priceless. Also, after I snapped this picture Rigley fell backwards....I guess Chaney was done holding onto him. Don't worry, he wasn't hurt.
The kids loved hiking. They loved being in the woods and seeing all the trees. Since we are so low on rain we were able to get dow really close to the river and walk on the sand bars. The kids loves finding shells and throwing rocks.
After a hike...playing...then another hike...eating...then driving we made it to the splash pad. We figured since it was a holiday that everyone would be there but much to our liking there was hardly anyone there. The kids enjoyed getting wet and playing.
I think today was a success.
