Nomination for DOY Award

I would like to nominate Josh for Dad of the Year Award (DOY).  He did a fantastic job while I was gone.  He was so looking forward to spending five days with the kids, like genuinely excited.  He was not dreading it at all.  Before I had left, Paislee had been running a low grade fever.  While I was gone Rigley got it and the others had a cold.  Remember Tucker has a sensitive gag reflex?...Yep one night he had a coughing fit then puked every where.  Josh got him all cleaned up and everything was good.  Friday night Rigley woke up with a really high fever.  Saturday morning he took him to the doctor and got him all fixed up with some meds.  They carved pumpkins, went to Home Depot for the fire safety days, went to playland and did some other stuff.  They even made this sign for me:

Josh is a great dad.  He did tell me when I got home Sunday night that he had a new respect for stay at home moms.  Now, don't get me wrong, he has always respected SAHM's but it is at a much higher level now.  He now understands how hard it is to take care of the kids, clean up the house, cook a good dinner and juggle laundry and everything else that comes up.  I think he was ready to go back to work so his days would be "easier."  I think it should be a necessity for all dads to stay with their kids for a period like this.  It's one thing to do 24 hours but a couple days is a whole other ballgame.  I'm so glad I got this guy!  I'm a lucky girl.
